Initiators and active members  – Workshop day – Tank meeting

Venue: SKF office at Hornsgatan 1, Gothenburg

New venue adress which is close to the above is: Von Utfallsgatan 2

Time: 09.00-16.30

We will spend a full day taking a journey from classical manufacturing into world class manufacturing.

Have you ever wondered how current manufacturing looks like in a leading industrial corporation? What are the main challenges? Which new enabling technologies are emerging and how can AI be used in the transition from classical to world class manufacturing? Or maybe you wonder what is meant by “world class”. Then take this journey with us!

  • The day will start with an introduction of traditional manufacturing processes and technologies, and the current challenges therein.
  • The introduction will be followed up by a visit to one of SKF’s world class factories in Gothenburg where you will see how a factory with a minimal amount of operators looks like. Don’t be scared by the self-driving trucks – they are used to visitors.
  • After this visit we take a leap directly into the future where we will co-create the future of manufacturing in an interactive workshop with all participants and some of the most prominent SKF experts from the field.

The main question will be:

Where, and how, can AI be used to boost traditional manufacturing into world class?

Welcome to this year’s edition of Innovation Pioneers Summit (earlier Innovation in Action), a two-day conference bringing together more than 200 innovation leaders & learners to share, learn and build on each other’s knowledge about the technology and trends that are shaping the world of tomorrow.

At Innovation Pioneers, we take pride in bringing together innovators, experts and changemakers. We are a global network of innovation leaders and learners from different companies, organizations, government agencies, academia, research and startups with a shared goal to build innovation capabilities through joint development.

Theme: Building Intelligent Futures

The future is abstract. Yet we all have different ideas and visions for the tomorrow we want to live in. During two days we will explore and build on possible  futures together, bridging our shared experiences and knowledge through a series of talks, workshops and innovation classes.

On stage we welcome global speakers to touch upon subjects such as smart cities, AI and the power of co-creation. Participants will also take part in Brain Breaks where we will rewire the human brain through a series of breakout sessions. Take part of diverse perspectives, angles and approaches and bring your own thoughts to the table.

Innovation Pioneers Summit is a learning platform for innovation leaders and learners to develop and share methods, processes, tools and insights together. All learnings from the summit will be documented and shared with all participants and members, so that they can be also be used and taken into action within your own organization.

Here you can see a selection of our Learning Program, for the full program go to ipsummit.se:

The Four Innovation Classes of 2018

Innovation is the art of coming up with a new idea, product or service, and then also bringing it to life. To create something new, we also need to be open to learning new things. That’s why the class room is an important pillar at our summit.

During the two days, we will split up into four innovation classes led by industry-leading representatives for learning sessions about disruptive subjects that are helping change and shape our everyday lives, and that of businesses and organizations across the globe.

Each participant will be able to take part in two of our four innovation classes, one per day:

Our 39th Tankmeeting #3-2017 – Innovation Beyond 2020 Alfa Laval

Alfa Laval lead us on a journey into the future beyond todays products and services using Story Telling

Now is the time to register for Innovation in Action! Workshops are filling up fast!

Find the report & presentations at the bottom.

Telling stories has been part of us since the beginning of time. One of the most important stories you have is your corporate history and vision. This will impact on your success.

A story isn’t always a timeline, it’s a gathering of moments, lessons learned, motivation, frustration, and success.

It might not come easy to tell stories, but as with any tool, with practice it can both make and brake what you do.

When people invest in you – they are investing in your story. How people perceive your story will influence how they will interact and be your ambassadors into the future.

Once you’re able to convincingly deliver a story that reaches the Amygdala part of the brain , you will be able to connect in a way that growth charts and hockey sticks never will.

Effective storytelling captures the hearts and minds of your target audience.  It makes your innovations stand out above the rest.

During this workshop day we were taken on a historical trip from 1883 where Alfa Laval has its roots to where they are today and into the future.

If Alfa Laval is committed to win instead of playing not to lose, how do they create the best possible conditions for the next products or business models by using story telling.

We set out to find how you can implement the same strategy in your own organization.

Participants had the opportunity to share their point of view and were given insights and methods to bring home.

Our host Peter Thorwid of Alfa Laval comments the day:

“The story telling workshop became very successful from Alfa Laval’s horizon. The final presentations, six well-known stories about The New Alfa Disc, all six will be useful. They can be used as good and less good examples of storytelling techniques, but also in continued work with performance-related innovations within Alfa Laval’s product groups, not just for the Separators.

The involvement of the participants was particularly exciting to see, perhaps the fantastic framing of Hamra Gård contributed to this. Imagine getting together in the same building as the best R & D cows in the world, both eyesight and scent touched us. The visits in the other barns were also very rewarding.

We were able to showcase some of Swedens industrial history, DeLavals Hamra Farm with Alfa Laval’s Separator Technique. Only that is a story in itself.

Now I look forward to Innovation in Action where we will meet again in sharing knowledge and insights. Have you registered your participation?”

Disruptive Scenario Planning Innovation Pioneers

Description of the day at Googol.

Scenario planning – the link between future and strategy.

Strategies should be based on what you may foresee the future holds. Planning for the most likely scenario, while still being agile enough to change when change inevitably happens, should be core for most companies.

During this Tank Meeting in May, hosted by Googol, you learned about five different methods on how to create plausible future scenarios, each method having its advantages. In workshops we dove deeper into one of them.

One of Innovation Pioneers firm beliefs and core values is that innovation is driven by diversity. We aim to have a balance of gender, origin and various industries and organisational forms represented at our meetings.

This Tank Meeting introduced the CGI Digital Day Methodology, which aims at increasing awareness by experiencing the power of industry disruption.
The digital day methodology helps people get insights in an area where disruption is close in any and every industry.

The aim of the tank meeting was to explore different perspectives of Blockchain through role-play and scenario acceleration. We focused on the Blockchain revolution which is on its way, and we wanted the participants to experience this as we invited some organizations to this journey.  One conclusion all participants agreed upon was that blockchain will affect you and your business.
